Our Story

“Every woman is special, beautiful, & fashionable in her unique way. Every ‘HER’ story is different.

A Mother, a Designer, an Entrepreneur, and a woman who believes in her passion and Inner Power - Vandana Raj, born in the vibrant town of Amritsar, Punjab is a graduate in Arts and Kathak. Her journey began as a typical homemaker, who loved creating a warm environment for her family. But, universe had other plans as she was made to take on the role of a single parent quite early in her life.

While being a mother to three daughters, she pursued fashion designing from the Vogue Institute of Fashion Technology and established a designer boutique for women’s wear back in 2002.

She formalized all her learning & experiences Under the banner– “Vandana Raj."

“I am inspired by the different roles; a woman plays in her lifetime. The different character’s that every phase has in store for her. The myths of beauty, the reality of dreams, personality and independence, is what I portray in my designs. The attire speaks of a person’s character and that’s what I love to imbibe in my collection." This has been Vandana's design philosophy.

She has always been inspired by peacocks, pazelis, human and animal figures. The hues of love and the passion for design has made her the woman that she is today.

She believes that creativity and imagination go hand in hand when it comes to achieving one’s dream and her innovative style will inspire women to develop their personal identity through fashion.

Vandana's work has been featured in Femina, and other popular fashion magazines and in popular newspaper as a woman, whose success is attributed to her grit, determination, and single-minded focus in dressing up lovely women of all ages and from varied walks of life. Truly, her designed attires make women walk with the vibe, “Yes, I can make my Dreams Come True.”

“House of Vandana Raj” caters to a wide variety of designer wear for today’s Women of Substance, who believe in investing in themselves. The collections include trendy casual, contemporary, ethnic, bridal and western apparels. The main highlight which keeps attracting her clients repeatedly is their customization for every client and detailing in the various design elements-be it embroidery or the styles and patterns or even the fabric knowhow itself. This ensures that the client is happy to wear a House of Vandana Raj outfit, whether on her most special day as a bride or for any other occasion.

2012 KINVA FASHION WEEK

In 2012, Vandana Raj made her debut on the Indian Fashion ramp, in KinvaFashion Week, which earned her enormous appreciation on the simplicity of her designs.

2013 BANGALORE FASHION WEEK

n 2013, she launched the ‘KADAMBARI’ collection at the Bangalore Fashion Week,

one of the most prestigious fashion events in the country. Her use of indigenous

methods like zar, gotawork, net, laces, bandhini, and hand dyeing brought her great

appreciation.

ACHIEVER'S AWARD FOR WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS

Along with this, the great Achiever’s Award for Women Entrepreneurs was presented to her in 2017 held at Bangkok, Thailand by the Indian Organization For Commerce and Industry.

INDEPENDENT WOMEN'S ACHIEVER'S AWARD by KWAA

Her significant contribution towards building a label and making her name on a global platform resulted in her achieving ‘The Independent Inspiring Woman’ Award by KWAA (Karnataka Woman Achievers Award) in June 2018, and was also felicitated by the ‘The Rotary Club of Bangalore, for her determination and dedication towards her work in the field.

2019- MERI BETI COLLECTION- A BOND BETWEEN A MOTHER AND DAUGHTER

In 2019, A very special Wedding collection Meri Beti was designed to illustrate the strong bond between mother and a daughter.

The collection comprises of ethnic & contemporary styles from traditional lehangas & suits to our version of a jumpsuit, dhotis, jackets & sarees.

In Summer of 2020, House of Vandana Raj launched an exquisite collection of casual and ethnic wear.

Kritagya by Vandana Raj’ is a bouquet of casual wear, representing the tranquillity, strength and divinity of today’s woman. The collection is a combination of delicate hand embroidery in the form of carefully curated textiles, tassels, applique work, floral prints, geometric designs and patterns and a lot more carved on array of fine fabrics.
